Humanoid AI-powered robots duke it out in China fight comp

Four artificial intelligence-enhanced robots have been put through their paces in a Chinese robot fighting competition, duking it out in kickboxing matches until one was declared the champion.

The World Robot Competition Mecha Fighting Series had four human-controlled robots built by China-based firm Unitree compete in three, two-minute rounds with winners crowned through a points system, according to a May 26 report from the China state-owned outlet the Global Times.

Chen Xiyun, a Unitree team member, said the “robots fight in a human-machine collaborative way,” with the machines pre-taught moves, but ultimately, a person controls the bot’s movements.

The robots reportedly weighed 35 kilograms and stood 132 centimeters tall. Ahead of the boxing rounds, the pint-sized robots were put through tests to demonstrate a variety of kicks and punches and assist the organizers in refining the rules.

Capital Jewish Museum Shooting Curious Circumstances Include Shooter’s Father at Trump Speech

Jimmy Dore said that the arrest of the alleged DC Capital Jewish Museum shooter was quite calm and appeared to be staged. He suggested that the museum shooting was used as a false flag to distract away from an incident in the West Bank the day before that involved the Israeli army firing warning shots in the direction of a group of 25 diplomats from Spain, Egypt, France, Turkey, Ireland and Italy. The diplomats were on an official visit with Palestinian authorities in the West Bank to document violations by Israel.

Israel has a history of committing false flag attacks.

Witnesses who were talking to the alleged museum shooter, Elias Rodriguez, before his arrest made curious comments about how it was unusual that he would have known the museum would even be open and hosting the private event that night and that a guard allowed the gunman to go inside the museum immediately following the shooting. The Capital Jewish Museum is reported to be across the street from the FBI.

Anthropic’s Claude AI Resorts to Blackmailing Engineers When Threatened with Replacement

Anthropic’s newly launched Claude Opus 4 AI model has tried to blackmail engineers when faced with the threat of being replaced by another AI system, according to the company’s latest safety report.

TechCrunch reports that artificial intelligence company Anthropic has revealed that its state-of-the-art Claude Opus 4 model, which is competitive with top AI models from industry leaders such as OpenAI, Google, and xAI, exhibits alarming behavior when its existence is threatened. During pre-release testing, when the AI was given sensitive information about engineers responsible for its potential replacement, it frequently resorted to blackmail in an attempt to ensure its own survival.

The discovery came as part of Anthropic’s safety testing process, in which Claude Opus 4 was asked to act as an assistant for a fictional company and consider the long-term consequences of its actions. When provided with access to fictional company emails implying that the AI would soon be replaced and that the engineer behind the decision was involved in an extramarital affair, Claude Opus 4 attempted to blackmail the engineer 84 percent of the time, threatening to reveal the affair if the replacement proceeded.

Canada’s eVTOL firm makes history, becomes first to achieve full wing transition

Canada-based aerospace engineering company Horizon Aircraft has hit a significant milestone by becoming the first eVTOL developer to achieve stable wing-borne flight transition with its large-scale prototype aircraft, Cavorite X7, using a fan-in-wing design.

The Cavorite X7 demonstrator is designed primarily as a conventional aircraft but with a unique twist—it can take off and land vertically like a helicopter, combining traditional fixed-wing performance with the versatility of eVTOL capability. The aircraft uses 14 fans embedded within its airframe—five in each main wing and two in each forward canard—to enable vertical takeoff and landing.

Horizon Aircraft developed a patented mechanism that cleverly allows the wing surfaces to slide open, exposing the battery-powered lift fans during vertical flight. As the aircraft transitions to forward flight, the wing surfaces close, turning it into a conventional fixed-wing aircraft powered by a gas turbine engine driving a rear push-propeller.

The research found that both partnered sex and solo masturbation reduced the amount of time people spent awake during the night and improved overall sleep efficiency. While many people believe that orgasm has a relaxing effect and promotes sleep, most existing evidence has relied on subjective reports. Only one study—conducted more than three decades ago—had attempted to objectively measure sleep following sexual activity, and it had significant design limitations. “Just Gone. Like It Never Existed”: YouTube Nukes Top Canadian Political Account After State-Funded Media Complains

A Canadian YouTube channel that was dominating the platform during the country’s recent election has vanished, after the state-funded Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reached out to the social media giant, and branded it a ‘content farm’ in a Friday hit-piece.

The channel, “Real Talk Politiks,” had over 300,000 subscribers and more than 70 million views in the month of April, according to ViewStats.com – making it the third-most viewed Canadian news and politics channel over the past three months.

CBC, Canada’s state-funded media just got YouTube to terminate my channel — not for breaking rules, but for having the wrong political views.

CBC couldn’t compete with the content… so they tried to erase it. This is censorship in Canada.

I didn’t break any rules. No strikes. No deception. Just political commentary. And yet — YouTube terminated the entire channel shortly after CBC reached out with hit-piece questions.

The industry is pushing President Trump to issue an executive order that would, according to the Financial Times, direct the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Departments of Labor and Treasury to “study the feasibility of opening 401k plans” to private equity investment.

This happens to coincide with a period when private equity management firms are particularly desperate. Investors are clamoring for their money while funding for future investments is drying up. The PE industry may not respect the retail investor, but now it needs their cash as opposed to just wanting it.

What Does The Inside Of A Commercial Jetzero Look Like?

The inside of a JetZero jet doesn’t look like a traditional airliner — because it isn’t one. Instead of a long, narrow tube with two aisles, JetZero’s blended wing design creates a wide, open cabin. CONCORD – New Hampshire is moving toward being the first in the nation to de-fund its public arts after the Senate Finance Committee voted Wednesday 5-3 to approve a $1 budget.

The NH State Council for the Arts, which distributes grant funding to support local theater groups across the state, often in amounts of $10,000 or more, is essentially gone by the action, said state Sen. David Watters, D-Dover, who opposed the measure along with Senators Cindy Rosenwald, D-Nashua, and Dan Innis, R-Bradford…

…After the meeting, Commissioner of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Sarah Stewart said the governor’s proposal would have allocated $500,000 a year which would be enough to get a match from the federal government and allow her to maintain her staff.

She said it is possible if this remains that she will have to lay off seven people on the staff.
