Etienne de la Boetie2 & Crew @ the Porcupine Freedom Festival in New Hampshire
We recently attended the Porcupine Freedom Festival (PorcFest) that brings together 2500+ voluntaryists, libertarians and peaceful anarchists in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The event is the largest gathering of the Free State Project, a mass migration that has organized between 7,000-10,000+ freedom lovers in New Hampshire to roll back “government” to just protecting life, liberty and property with another 24,000+ that have pledged to join them with new folks arriving into the state every single week.
The Annual Group Photo… A fraction of the total attendees over the week-long camping event. The group fills up the largest RV park in the state, every single tent camping spot in the park, the on-site motel and many other hotels, Air BnBs, and other accommodations in the area.

We partnered with Alu Axelman of the Liberty Block and the Foundation for New Hampshire Independence, who is joining the Art of Liberty Foundation as our first outside researcher and fellow. Here are Etienne and Alu kicking around the Free State Project and the potential for New Hampshire to secede from the US with comedian and podcast host Sam Tripoli.

Etienne de la Boetie2 and Mark Passio presented at the Freedom Under Natural Law Conference live from the Autonomy Café at the Porcupine Freedom Festival. The subject was Voting is Violence – Why You Don’t Want to Participate in Organized Crime’s Rigged Poker Game… Except in New Hampshire! Mark Passio is the proprietor of WhatOnEarthIsHappening.com and one of the foremost scholars of Natural Law and voluntaryist political philosophy.

PorcFest is a family-friendly event where kids co-exist safely with small pockets of what can only be described as complete debauchery self-contained in the “adult section” of the campground. Here is a group of kids learning to make swords from pool noodles and PVC pipe. Many kids are learning to be entrepreneurs. One double-digit midget made over $2500 last year selling homemade blowguns with 3D-printed darts and running his own Zombie target range.
One of the things I love about PorcFest is that so many people are trading in Goldbacks, silver, and even ammunition! We were selling “Government” – The Biggest Scam in History… Exposed!, Liberators, and vegan fare and ended up with almost $400 in gold and silver. Someone even traded me five 9mm lugar rounds (for a .35 per bullet credit) which was interestingly the same number and type of bullets that I got arrested for by the Secret Service for having at the White House in 2020!
